I don't wanna ruin the mood, but I see huge problems in the cutscene. Like that dude, who covered Ueno with his body. I think his job is bodyguarding and yet he shoot 5 (FIVE!) times from a meter range and hits only 1 and in the shoulder??? Holy shit looks like he's born pacifist and never shoot a gun in his life. He also got shot 2 times and second one was VERY CLOSE TO HUMAN'S HEART, yet he survived and not even crippled. Ueno got shot and is bedridden for a few decades I think. Saejima for some reason didn't make sure everyone dead, leaving two men breathing is unproffesional of him. Also Saejima got shot in the shoulder AND somewhere in the upper back around neck should leave way more impact than 'pffft just a scratch'. If if was just 1 coincidence it would seem quite realistic (shit sometimes does happen), but all this at once seems like we're watching a miracle film with magic and superhumans. In fact, if they remove just that .bodyguard guy' the scene would be so much more realistic

The way you took care of the mastiffs is brilliant. I can't do it consistently though. The second mastiff almost always jumps backwards right as I start the counter attack. It's almost like he knows the trick lol. But really it's that damn dog in wave 3 I can't seem to get. If I could just get rid of it, I'd be good. Been trying this level for way too long now.

Die Qualität der Synchronisation ist ja insgesamt schon eher wechselhaft, aber ich finde es immer noch cool, dass es sie gibt. Es ist ja heute immer noch sehr selten, dass Spiele mit einer so ernsten Materie wie MGS1 (insofern es solche wirklich gibt, da MGS1 und 2 eine Klasse für sich sind) eine deutsche Synchronisation bekommen. Auch die Übersetzung und einige stylistische Sachen im Text lassen teilweise zu Wünschen übrig. Aber eben, ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass man damals bei der Lokalisation von Videospielen total unvorbereitet war, als man plötzlich so etwas Düsteres und Ernstes wie MGS1 übersetzen musste. So etwas hat man wohl gar nicht für möglich gehalten. Ähnliches bzw. viel Schlimmeres sieht man ja auch bei deutschen Übersetzungen von Spielen wie Secret of Mana, etc. Aber ich finde man merkt insgesamt doch, dass MGS1 mit Respekt behandelt wurde. Die Lokalisation ist ein Produkt seiner Zeit, aber durchaus kein Schlechtes. Ich finde es immer noch faszinierend, dass man sich damals die Mühe gemacht hat, denn nur ein paar Jahre später auf der PS2 waren deutsche Synchronisationen für Spiele wie MGS2 oder 3 oder allgemein speziell bei japanischen Spielen ja wieder praktisch undenkbar. Warum wohl?
